What is the Statute of Limitations for a Car Accident?

A statute of limitations is a deadline by which you must file your lawsuit in a court of law. Florida allows four years to file a lawsuit for a car accident under Florida Statute §95.11. If you fail to file your lawsuit before this deadline, you may be precluded from recovering the compensation you deserve. If you lost a loved one, you have only two years to file your wrongful death lawsuit.
